What’s Inside:

  • Welcome letter with tips for applying the informance idea in your school

  • Songs and Activities

    • Each song has sheet music, a musical analysis, stick notation, game directions, an improvisation or arranging activity, instrumentation, and ideas for other creative options.

    • Any of the songs in this program could be arranged in a different way, replaced with different repertoire, or omitted.

    • The last song in the program is a “teacher choice.” Ideas for song selection, as well as arrangement ideas, are given so that your informance can reflect your students’ favorite songs and creative skills.

    • 2nd Grade Song List: Here Comes a Bluebird, Paw Paw Patch, Who Has Seen the Wind?, Who’s That?, Tideo, Plainsies Clapsies, Sea Shell, Kookaburra

    • 3rd Grade Song List: Sapo Sapito, Big Fat Biscuit, Happy Miller, Fais Do Do, Al Citron, I Got a Letter This Morning, Sail Away Ladies, Teacher Choice

  • Script

    • This script comes as an editable Google Doc. Note that for copyright purposes, this script gives cues before each song, and does not include the entire text of the book.

  • 3 Program Options:

    • The black and white program is a single 8.5 x 11 page

    • The color option is meant to be printed on 14 x 11 and folded in half.

    • The digital program is designed to be read on a cell phone. Parents scan a QR code to read the program.

  • 3 Parent Invitations (Email and Flyers)

    • The email is typed out so all you have to do is include your specific date and time, then copy and paste!

    • The printed flyers come in both a black and white, and color option.

  • 4 Stage Layout Ideas

    • Every school scenario is unique! Our “stages” are often a cafeteria, school gymnasium, or MPR. Use the editable stage layout options to make your program flow smoothly.

    • There is also an option to create your own custom stage layout from scratch.

  • Slides

    • The slides include National Standards for Music Education and California State Standards for Music Education. They come in Google Slides so you can easily edit them.

    • They also highlight a specific creative skill for parents to notice during the program.

  • 5 Parent Education Ideas

    • Ideas for displaying student work and educating parents about musical vocabulary
